Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing business to recruit a Quality Technologist for their expanding technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with experience in food manufacturing to join a well-established business committed to food safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Reporting to the Quality Leader, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing food safety and quality standards across the site while supporting customer, supplier, and third-party audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive compliance with food safety and quality standards across all production areas.
  • Support and participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed effectively.
  • Investigate customer complaints, supplier non-conformances, and production-related quality issues using root cause analysis techniques.
  • Lead technical projects including allergen validation, hygiene validation, and site claims verification.
  • Manage supplier complaints and support supplier performance reviews.
  • Conduct factory inspections, line walks, and quality assessments to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Support mock recalls, traceability exercises, and food safety investigations.
  • Deliver technical training across the site, including HACCP, food hygiene, and allergen awareness.
  • Analyse quality and food safety data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing teams to promote a strong food safety and quality culture.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience within a Technical or Quality role in a food manufacturing environment.
  • HACCP Level 3 qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS standards and food industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience writing reports, investigations, and risk assessments.

Desirable Criteria

  • Food Science, Food Technology, or related qualification.
  • Experience leading third-party audits.
  • Knowledge of 8-Step Problem Solving methodologies.
