Vickerstock is excited to be working in partnership with their Food Manufacturing client who produce a wide range of specialised products within their field. Due to continued success, we are seeking a Quality Control Assistant to join the current team based in County Tyrone. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful Quality Assistant will be based across two sites in County Tyrone and will implement and maintain the QMS ensuring all products meet customer and legal requirements.

What your day to day will look like as Quality Assistant:
- Assist in implementing, auditing and continual improvement of the QA system to maintain certification.
- Assist to ensure that all product meets customer and legal requirements, providing technical support and working closely with the factory production team to achieve this.
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled audits within the factory to include hygiene and housekeeping and reporting information and improvements to factory personnel.
- Training of production operatives in new formulations, work instructions or quality procedures.
- Maintain quality records for an established HACCP system.
- Microbiological and chemical sample collection and swabbing.
- Maintaining HACCP and quality records through verification, filing, storage and retrieval.
- Receiving, recording, investigating and responding to customer complaints and completing complaint trend analysis for presentation.
- Daily collation, verification and filing of quality documentation in a logical and retrievable manner.
- Carry out product weight checks to required frequency and report any significant deviations towards upper and lower limits to enable corrective action to be taken in a timely manner.
- Follow up investigations on queries and errors because of checks carried out.
- Calibration of key monitoring equipment e.g. scales.
- Monitoring and recording of temperatures.
- Carry out personal hygiene, glass and other required audits as requested.
- Complete any required quality documentation accurately and legibly.
- Assist in induction, HACCP and Hygiene training.
- Assist in both internal and external company audits.
What you will need to succeed:
- 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) to include English Language and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications or higher standard of education or equivalent.
- A minimum of 6 months experience in a quality control role / setting.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required.
- IT literate.
- Highly organised, with efficient time management and ability to prioritise workload.
- Hold a full current driving licence and have use of a car.
