Vickerstock are working in partnership with a major distribution business on the appointment of a Purchasing Manager/Group Buyer on a full-time permanent basis. This is a brand new position which can be attributed to continuous growth and increased sales. This role will require travel to England most months.
As the Purchasing Manager you will focus on procurement and supplier management with a strong emphasis on effective negotiation and supplier relationship building and cost-saving measures while maintaining customer satisfaction.
In your new role, duties will include:
- Develop and effectively execute purchasing strategies
- Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals.
- Forecast key prices and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Performing cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking.
- Sourcing and partnering with reliable vendors / suppliers.
- Monitoring and forecasting upcoming levels of demand.
What you will need to succeed:
- Four years's purchasing experience in the FMCG/Food industry.
- Ability and willingness to travel to England
- Strategic procurement experience is advantageous
- Confident and effective communicator
- BA Hons Degree is advantageous but not required.
