Vickerstock are delighted to be partnering with a leading food manufacturing organisation to recruit a Specifications Technologist to join their expanding Technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in food specifications, technical administration, or regulatory compliance who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

The Role
Reporting to the Technical Manager / Specifications Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring finished product specifications and packaging information are accurate, compliant, and delivered right first time. You will act as a technical link between internal departments, customers, and external stakeholders to ensure products meet all legal, customer, and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, approve and maintain finished product specifications in line with customer requirements and legislation
- Generate accurate ingredient declarations and nutritional information
- Ensure all product claims are validated and supported by appropriate documentation
- Create and approve pack copy and artwork for primary and secondary packaging
- Upload and maintain product data across customer specification portals
- Maintain supporting validation documentation including nutrition data and cooking validations
- Respond to specification queries from customers and internal teams
- Support artwork approval processes alongside design teams, printers and commercial functions
- Present specifications during customer audits or visits where required
- Work closely with NPD, supply chain and factory teams to ensure accurate product information
- Keep up to date with evolving customer standards and food legislation
What you will need to succeed
- Food-related qualification or experience within a food manufacturing technical role
- Experience working with product specifications, artwork approval or regulatory documentation
- Strong understanding of food labelling legislation (desirable)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Comfortable managing multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- IT literate with experience using specification systems and Microsoft Office
