Overview

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a major heavy manufacturing business on the appointment of a Procurement Manager on a full-time permanent basis.

As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing global sourcing and procurement strategies to optimise cost, quality, risk management, and supplier performance across all regions. This role ensures alignment with corporate objectives, drives supplier innovation, and establishes best-in-class procurement practices to support global operations.

In your new role

  • Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals across regions.
  • Develop, implement, and manage global procurement strategies across multiple categories (direct and/or indirect).
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with global suppliers to secure cost savings, innovation, and service improvements.
  • Establish KPIs and scorecards to evaluate supplier performance and compliance.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Partner with operations, finance, legal, and regional business units to align procurement initiatives with business goals.
  • Support new product launches and global projects with supplier selection and sourcing strategies.
  • Serve as a procurement subject matter expert, guiding regional and local teams.
  • Drive cost savings, working capital improvements, and total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions.
  • Analyse market trends and provide insights on global pricing, supply, and risk factors.
  • Lead contract negotiations ensuring compliance with global legal and ethical standards.
  • Promote sustainability, diversity, and ethical sourcing in supplier selection and management.

What you will need to succeed

  • 3-5+ years of procurement experience, with at least 2 years in a global or regional procurement leadership role.
  • Proven management experience with a passion for growing and developing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, a related field (Master’s preferred), or a professional qualification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, PMP)
