Vickerstock are currently recruiting for a Food Safety & Quality Auditor to join our client, a growing food manufacturing business based in Newtownards.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on maintaining high standards across food safety, quality and compliance, with responsibility for audits, routine quality checks, complaints, traceability and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

The RoleComplete site and ancillary facility audits covering GMP, food safety, quality, CCPs, hygiene, fabrication and pest control.
Carry out routine food safety and quality checks, including product weights and coding, temperatures, cleaning, metal detection, glass and Perspex and internal audits.
Monitor production processes from raw materials through to finished products, identifying and escalating any food safety or quality issues.
Manage and investigate customer complaints, including product traceability, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Maintain accurate food safety, quality and production records and analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Support internal and external audits, addressing non-conformances and monitoring corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety legislation, customer requirements and relevant quality standards.
Provide guidance and training to Operations teams on food safety, quality and best practice.
Work closely with the wider FSQA team to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
Support risk assessments, safe systems of work and incident investigations where required.
What you'll needProven experience in a Technical or QA role, ideally within food production or a pharmaceutical environment, or a degree in a food-related discipline.
Strong understanding of HACCP principles and their application within quality management.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Desirable
Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't!)HACCP Level 2 qualification.
Food Safety Level 2 qualification.
Experience using customer technical portals such as Erudus or Opri.
