Estimator

Down The Role We are working with a leading construction contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their commercial and pre-construction team in Newry.

You'll work alongside an established team comprising Quantity Surveyors, HLA's and senior estimating support, playing a key role in preparing competitive and commercially sound tenders for a diverse project portfolio.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established contractor where you'll be exposed to a varied range of projects across sectors including education, healthcare, residential, commercial and hospitality.

  • Responsible

For: Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for construction projects.

Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.

Completing detailed take-offs and preparing pricing.

Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.

Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options.

Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and consultants.

Assisting with tender submissions and post-tender negotiations.

Working closely with the wider commercial and pre-construction team.

Need: Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry.

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and costs.

Experience pricing construction projects from drawings and specifications.

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Ability to work to tight tender deadlines.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.
