The Company

Our client is a global leader within the engineering and manufacturing sector, supplying equipment to customers worldwide. Due to continued growth, they are seeking to appoint a Quality Engineer to join their team in Omagh. This opportunity would suit an existing Quality Engineer, however it may equally suit a Quality Technician or Quality Inspector looking to take the next step in their career. Graduates with a relevant placement year within manufacturing or quality are also encouraged to apply.

The Role

As Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in promoting a proactive quality culture throughout the business, ensuring products consistently meet customer requirements while supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing and supplier operations. Working closely with production, engineering, purchasing and suppliers, your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting a right-first-time and zero-defect quality culture
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
  • Analysing quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Investigating quality concerns and supporting root cause analysis activities
  • Working with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve performance
  • Supporting supplier qualification activities for fabricated, machined and cast components
  • Creating and updating quality documentation including quality alerts, inspection standards and control plans
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Supporting lean manufacturing initiatives including 5S and process standardisation
  • Implementing containment actions where quality issues arise
  • Supporting New Product Introduction activities from design review through to production
  • Assisting with customer quality concerns and corrective actions
  • Working collaboratively with engineering, production and purchasing teams to drive quality performance

What You'll Need

  • Engineering qualification or experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience working within a quality-focused role in manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Understanding of quality control principles and manufacturing processes
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
