Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading animal health manufacturing business seeking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations across two sites in Tyrone. This is a key leadership position with responsibility for the overall performance of manufacturing operations, overseeing production, planning, purchasing, stores and inventory, engineering and maintenance, and people management across both sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading manufacturing and operational activities across both production sites
  • Developing production strategies and schedules to meet customer demand and business objectives
  • Overseeing production planning, purchasing, stores and inventory management
  • Ensuring production targets, quality standards and delivery requirements are achieved
  • Driving continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Managing engineering and maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability and uptime
  • Leading, developing and performance-managing operational teams across both sites
  • Monitoring KPIs and implementing corrective actions to improve performance
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
  • Managing supplier performance and ensuring availability of materials and resources
  • Supporting capital expenditure and operational improvement projects
  • Overseeing the maintenance and presentation of both production sites
  • Working closely with senior management and other departments to support business growth and operational performance

What you'll need

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior manufacturing, production or operations management role
  • Proven experience managing multi-functional manufacturing operations
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling
  • Experience managing purchasing, inventory control, engineering and production functions
  • Demonstrated success in delivering operational improvements and cost reductions
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving abilities
  • Commercial awareness and financial understanding
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A results-driven and commercially focused approach
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities

Desirable Criteria

  • Degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Supply Chain or a related discipline
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience
  • Health and Safety experience
  • Experience operating across multiple manufacturing sites
