Vickerstock are recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the Manufacturing Engineering function, own the NPI process, and drive continuous improvement across assembly and fabrication operations for a Global client based in Omagh. This is a leadership role combining technical ownership, people management, and operational improvement delivery.
Your key responsibilities as a Manufacturing Engineer Manager:
- Line management of Manufacturing Engineers
- Set clear objectives, priorities, and accountability for the team
- Develop engineering capability through coaching, training, and mentoring
- Ensure engineering support enables stable and efficient production
- Act as the technical authority for assembly and fabrication processes
- Own and lead the NPI process for the site for prototype builds and production readiness launch
- Ensure effective transfer from design to manufacture
- Define and validate manufacturing BOMs, routings, work instructions, process flows, tooling, jigs, and fixtures
- Lead cross functional NPI reviews with Design, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain
- Ensure products are manufacturable, cost effective, and capable of repeatable production
- Drive right first-time introduction into production
- Own the integrity of manufacturing data including manufacturing BOMs, routings, standard times, and capacity data
- Ensure alignment between design engineering, planning, and ERP systems
- Manage the team responsible for manufacturing data and planning inputs
- Support planning accuracy, lead time definition, capacity and forecasting modelling
- Drive continuous improvement in data accuracy and governance
As a Manufacturing Engineer Manager, ideally you will have:
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering management
- Strong background in assembly and fabrication environments
- Experience leading NPI / industrialisation activities
- Demonstrated success delivering continuous improvement projects
- Strong people management and leadership capability
