Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established construction wholesaler based in Belfast to recruit a Trade Counter Salesperson on a temporary to permanent basis.
The Role
As a Trade Counter Salesperson, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing excellent service while supporting the day-to-day running of the trade counter. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong customer-facing experience and an interest in construction products.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving customers at the trade counter and handling enquiries
- Providing product advice and recommending suitable materials
- Processing sales orders and payments accurately
- Maintaining stock levels and ensuring the counter area is well organised
- Assisting with goods in/out when required
- Building strong relationships with both new and existing customers
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good level of numeracy and attention to detail
- Basic IT skills for processing orders and payments
Desirable Criteria
- Previous trade counter or builders merchants experience
- Knowledge of construction materials and products
- Experience using EPOS or stock control systems
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
