Vickerstock are working in partnership with an established food manufacturing business seeking to appoint an experienced Technical Assistant to join their team based in Newry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Technical professional with experience within a food manufacturing environment to join an established business and support food safety, quality, compliance and product development activities across the site.

What's in it for you?

Salary of £30,000 - £35,000 DOE Monday - Thursday: 8am - 5pm, Friday: 8am - 4pm General flexibility required due to the nature of the business Opportunity to join an established food manufacturing business What will you be doing?

Supporting the technical team with internal and external audits.

Helping to investigate and resolve non-conformances.

Assisting with SOPs, work instructions and staff training.

Supporting the monitoring of HACCP and food safety procedures.

Carrying out microbiological and chemical testing and liaising with external laboratories when required.

Supporting New Product Development, including product samples and trials.

Working with customers and internal teams to support product quality and compliance.

Helping to ensure food safety, quality and regulatory standards are maintained across the site.

What will you need? 3-5 years' experience within a similar Technical role.

Previous experience working within a food manufacturing/factory environment.

Good understanding of food safety, quality and technical standards.

Experience with HACCP and supporting audit processes.

Good communication and organisational skills.

The flexibility to work around the needs of the business.

Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't!) Experience with BRCGS, Red Tractor or customer audits.

Experience supporting New Product Development and product trials.

Experience liaising with external laboratories.
