Quantity Surveyor Location: Newry, Co. Down The Role We are working with an established and highly regarded main contractor who are continuing to grow their commercial team. Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their existing commercial function in Newry. You'll work as part of an established team of 4 Quantity Surveyors, 3 HLA's and a Senior Estimator, with responsibility for the commercial management of a range of projects across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. You Will Be Responsible For: Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from pre-construction through to completion. Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts and cost/value reconciliations. Subcontract procurement, negotiation and account management. Preparing interim valuations and final accounts. Managing variations, claims and commercial risk. Monitoring project costs and maximising commercial performance. Working closely with the wider project team, clients, consultants and supply chain. Supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects. What You Will Need: Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics. Previous experience within a build environment. Strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes. Experience managing subcontractors and commercial packages. What's In It For You?
