This is an excellent opportunity for a practical Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys designing products and seeing those designs progress through manufacture. Working within an experienced Engineering team, you will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies, produce detailed drawings and work closely with Manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, reliable and straightforward to produce. You will be involved in both new design work and improvements to existing products, giving you plenty of opportunity to solve engineering problems and influence how products are designed and manufactured. Key Responsibilities for this Mechanical Design Engineer position Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies Produce 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings Develop designs from initial concept through to manufacture Produce and maintain Bills of Materials and engineering documentation Work closely with Manufacturing to ensure designs are practical and production-ready Support new product development and improvements to existing products Investigate design and manufacturing problems and develop practical solutions Support engineering changes and design improvements Essential Criteria for this Mechanical Design Engineer position Previous experience within Mechanical Design Engineering or a similar Design Engineering role Proficient 3D CAD design experience Experience producing detailed engineering drawings Good understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes A practical approach to design and engineering problem solving Ability to work closely with Manufacturing and other Engineers Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or similar qualification would be advantageous Experience designing machinery, equipment, fabricated products or other manufactured products would be particularly relevant, although Engineers from other manufacturing backgrounds will also be considered.
