Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with our innovative agri-food client on the appointment of Quality Assistant for their Monaghan based factory. Reporting to the Quality/Technical Manager and Production Manager you will implement and maintain the QMS ensuring all products meet customer and legal requirements.

What your day to day will look like:

  • Monitor product quality, food safety, and manufacturing processes throughout production.
  • Verify daily production records and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Food Safety, Hygiene, and SOP requirements.
  • Deliver staff inductions, training, and refresher training; maintain training records.
  • Liaise with Production and Planning to ensure customer requirements, orders, labels, and pallets are correct.
  • Conduct fabrication audits and work with Maintenance to close out non-conformances.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and cleaning verification, addressing any issues identified.
  • Maintain supplier approval documentation and communicate quality matters with suppliers.
  • Report non-conformances to management and support corrective actions.
  • Assist with customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Knowledge of BRC and Bord Bia standards.
  • Experience in a food production environment.
  • Understanding of quality and technical requirements within chilled and frozen food production.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across departments and work well under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Full driving licence required.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak production periods.
