Vickerstock are proud to be partnering with a leading player in the European agri-food sector to recruit a Maintenance Technician for their site in Cahir. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering team within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

Working as part of the maintenance function, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of plant machinery through a combination of preventative and reactive maintenance.

Your new role as a Maintenance Technician:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all plant equipment
  • Responding to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime
  • Performing fault finding, repairs, and servicing on mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Conducting daily start-up checks to ensure operational readiness
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Supporting continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety and hygiene standards
  • Working collaboratively with production teams to support plant performance

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
  • Mechanical or electrical qualification (or time-served apprenticeship)
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Experience within food production is advantageous but not essential
