Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit a Senior HSE Advisor. As a Senior HSE Advisor, you will provide expert guidance and leadership across all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance. Supporting both operational teams and senior management, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance, improving HSE systems, and driving initiatives that enhance safety, environmental performance, and employee wellbeing.

In your new role:

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's Health, Safety & Environmental strategy and management systems
  • Provide expert HSE advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, and operational teams
  • Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, engagement, and behavioural safety initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with UK and Northern Ireland Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation
  • Lead risk assessments, safe systems of work, and method statement reviews across operational activities
  • Conduct incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Carry out workplace inspections, internal audits, and support external regulatory and certification audits
  • Deliver HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes across the business
  • Support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and occupational health and wellbeing programmes
  • Monitor HSE performance, analyse KPI trends, and prepare reports to support continuous improvement
  • Assist in maintaining and developing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Previous experience within a Health, Safety & Environmental role
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or another industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK and Northern Ireland Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Proven experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • Ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels of the organisation

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
  • IOSH membership or membership of an equivalent professional body
  • Experience maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and occupational health programmes
  • Experience supporting behavioural safety programmes and organisational culture change
