Key responsibilities- Own and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) across products and sites, including full MRP demand ownership
- Convert dealer and sales demand into clear capacity requirements
- Control plan changes using agreed time fences and governance
- Balance customer priorities, commercial commitments, and operational constraints
- Support IBP / S&OP processes
- Coordinate with Production Managers to ensure accurate scheduling aligned to demand and inventory
- Develop short, medium, and long-term capacity models for labour, machines, and key suppliers
- Identify bottlenecks and capacity gaps, leading mitigation actions
- Run scenarios for demand shifts, ramp-ups, and recovery plans
- Support decisions on overtime, shifts, outsourcing, and capital investment
- Monitor schedule adherence, capacity utilisation, service levels, and inventory impact
- Proactively flag delivery and capacity risks
- Prepare and report customer delivery metrics; manage portal data where required
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for planning failures
- Identify process gaps and improve ERP planning practices through procedures, audits, and corrective actions
- Ensure MRP outputs align with the master schedule
- Balance service, inventory, and cash through planning parameters
- Support material strategy decisions (safety stock, lead times, build strategies)
- Demonstrated career progression within an engineering manufacturing environment, including:
- Experience as a Production Planner/Scheduler using ERP systems for scheduling and capacity planning
- Experience as a Senior Production Planner/Scheduler managing complex products, changing customer demand, production flow optimisation, stakeholder coordination, and ideally ownership of the end‑to‑end master schedule for a plant or product line
- Ability to turn complex data into clear, practical actions
- Experience working cross‑functionally in a changing, fast‑moving environment
