From first concept, you will work within your team to design, develop, prototype and test very ergonomic products. This role is working with a close team of experienced and collaborative Mechanical Design Engineers. The role reports directly to the Design Manager.

- 38 working hours per week
- 8-4.30 Mon-Thur with a 2pm finish on Fridays
- Role is predominantly office based in Lisburn with the possible flexibility of up to 2-3 days work from home each month when required
The position of Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Develop products from concept through to manufacture, both individually or as a member of a project team using SolidWorks
- Work to required deliverables, ensuring design projects are on time and within budget
- Support prototyping by providing accurate data to the prototyping resources
- Support product/project reviews
- Ensure all products are thoroughly tested and meet regulatory requirements
- Work with other Designers, Implementation Engineers, departments, test labs, suppliers and contractors to ensure successful project completion
- Adhere to design procedures and protocols, keeping electronic files
- Communicate project briefs to the design team
- Research projects thoroughly covering user needs, market requirements and technical requirements
Essential Criteria for this Mechanical Design Engineering position:
- A minimum of 3 years Mechanical Design Experience - Ideally within the creative development of products that require ergonomic considerations - Design of products such as bikes etc
- Experience of designing and managing products from concept through development to full production
- A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes including plastics and metal fabrication
- Strong concepting, visualization and problem-solving skills
- Strong 3D design package experience such as SolidWorks
