Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading specialist engineering firm on the appointment of a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer.

As HSE Officer, you will support operations across manufacturing, warehousing, and office environments, helping to uphold and advance a culture of safety, compliance, and sustainability. You will play a key role in ensuring the effective implementation of environmental and health & safety systems across a range of busy and technically complex facilities.

In your new role:

  • Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures and systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and relevant legislative frameworks
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective control measures
  • Provide day-to-day HSE support to teams across multiple locations, ensuring site and operational compliance with internal and external standards
  • Lead and manage incident investigations, reporting findings and driving preventive actions
  • Promote behavioural safety and contribute to continuous improvement across all areas of the business
  • Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions and inductions to employees and contractors
  • Monitor and analyse HSE data, producing regular reports and identifying trends
  • Act as a key point of contact for all Health, Safety and Environmental matters across the business
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to embed a proactive and positive safety culture

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience in an HSE role within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH, etc)
  • Working knowledge of current HSE legislation and compliance frameworks
  • Experience implementing and managing Health & Safety systems and practices across multiple sites
  • Experience in carrying out investigations, audits and reporting
  • Full clean UK driving licence with flexibility to travel between sites as required

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don\’t worry if you don\’t):

  • Familiarity with digital HSE management systems and tools
  • Experience with Environmental and Sustainability initiatives (e.g., waste management, carbon footprint reduction)
  • Experience in delivering internal HSE training
