Role Summary
Based in Waterford, this role offers an exciting opportunity to join a business undergoing significant investment and expansion within its ingredients division. Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Business Development Manager to drive the growth of a premium ingredient portfolio across Ireland, the UK and Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to join a well-established organisation and play a key role in developing new markets, securing strategic customers and shaping future growth plans.
The Role
- Drive sales growth and business development activities across Ireland, the UK and European markets.
- Identify and develop new B2B customer relationships within food manufacturing, petfood, foodservice, retail and ingredient sectors.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and presentations through to negotiation, closing and account management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to maximise retention and growth opportunities.
- Provide technical and commercial product support to customers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
- Work closely with Technical, Quality, Production and Operations teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Support forecasting, budgeting and long-term commercial planning activities.
- Represent the business at customer meetings, trade events and exhibitions across Europe.
- Travel throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe to develop customer relationships and support business growth initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Proven Business Development or Sales experience within food manufacturing, food ingredients or foodservice sectors.
- Strong understanding of ingredients, proteins, flavourings, extracts, stocks, broths, seasonings or related food categories.
- Ability to discuss both technical and commercial product applications with customers.
- Track record of delivering sales growth and developing new business opportunities.
- Existing industry network would be advantageous.
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
- Full driving licence required.
