Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading infrastructure contractor on the appointment of a HSEQ Advisor to support major Data Centre projects (x2 positions available). This is an excellent opportunity for an HSEQ professional to move into the rapidly growing data centre sector, supporting the safe delivery of complex infrastructure projects within highly regulated and quality-focused environments.

Working closely with site teams, project management and subcontractors, you will provide practical HSEQ guidance, monitor project compliance and drive continuous improvement across Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance.

In your new role:

  • Provide competent HSEQ advice and guidance to project management, site teams and contractors
  • Support the implementation and continual improvement of HSEQ management systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with HSEQ legislation, client requirements and company procedures
  • Carry out regular site audits, inspections and compliance assessments across live data centre projects
  • Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
  • Review and monitor subcontractor HSEQ documentation and performance
  • Support the preparation of Construction Stage Plans, Emergency Response Plans, tender and pre-qualification documentation
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented
  • Monitor HSEQ KPIs, objectives and performance trends, identifying opportunities for continual improvement
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and other HSEQ training and awareness initiatives
  • Maintain accurate HSEQ records and provide clear performance reporting to project and senior management
  • Work collaboratively with clients, project teams and subcontractors to promote a proactive HSEQ culture and best practice

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Previous HSEQ experience within civil engineering, telecommunications, utilities, infrastructure or a similar project environment
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation
  • Experience carrying out site audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Experience preparing or reviewing RAMS and contractor HSEQ documentation
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills with the confidence to engage and influence site teams
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid CSCS Card

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • Previous experience within data centres
  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or technically complex construction projects
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management systems
  • Experience supporting external audits, client inspections and certification requirements
  • Experience delivering inductions, toolbox talks and HSEQ training
