Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading, multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit an Employer's Representative to support the delivery of infrastructure projects across the Border Counties, with a particular focus on Monaghan, Donegal and Cavan. This is a senior-level appointment and would suit an experienced professional with 10+ years' industry experience and a proven background acting as Employer's Representative on civil or infrastructure schemes. The role offers long-term project stability, autonomy, and the opportunity to represent the client's interests on critical public-sector infrastructure works.

Your new role as Employer's Representative:

  • Acting as Employer's Representative under contract, representing the client's interests throughout project delivery.
  • Overseeing infrastructure projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
  • Managing contracts, change control, and communications in accordance with agreed forms of contract.
  • Monitoring contractor performance in relation to programme, quality, safety, and cost.
  • Chairing progress meetings and coordinating between contractors, designers, stakeholders, and statutory bodies.
  • Reviewing and approving technical submissions, programmes, and payment applications.
  • Managing risk registers, reporting on progress, and escalating issues where required.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in compliance with statutory, environmental, and health safety obligations.

What you'll need to succeed as Employer's Representative:

  • Significant experience acting as Employer's Representative on civil or infrastructure projects (essential).
  • 10+ years' experience within civil engineering, infrastructure delivery, or project management.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and public-sector project delivery.
  • Experience working on infrastructure schemes such as roads, water, utilities, or public works.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple site interfaces across geographically dispersed projects.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel across the Border Counties as required.
  • Chartered status or a relevant professional qualification would be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate.
