Vickerstock are working in partnership with a growing food manufacturing business as they establish their new production facility in Dungannon, following the relocation of their manufacturing operations. They are seeking to appoint a Quality Assurance Technician to join the team during this exciting period of growth and development. Salary: Β£28-32k Permanent position Opportunity to join a growing food manufacturing business during an exciting period of expansion Opportunity to develop your career within food safety and quality Join a small team with scope for development as the site continues to grow Broad exposure across technical, quality and food safety activities Key responsibilities will include: Supporting HACCP plans, food safety culture and quality improvement programmes Supporting the site's food safety and quality management systems Conducting internal GMP, hygiene and housekeeping audits Maintaining technical documentation, records and training matrices Creating and maintaining finished product specifications Supporting supplier approval and ongoing supplier performance monitoring Investigating quality issues, non-conformances and customer complaints Supporting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions Producing monthly technical KPI reports and analysing performance trends Supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives Working closely with Production to improve food safety and quality performance Verifying CCPs, ingredient controls, weights, labelling, metal detection and calibration activities Delivering food safety training and technical briefings to operational teams Providing technical support for new product launches Maintaining a strong presence across the factory and stores where relevant What you'll need Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline, or significant relevant experience One year of industrial placement or work experience within food manufacturing or a quality environment Good understanding of food safety principles including HACCP, GMP and hygiene Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to investigate issues methodically and follow actions through to completion Confident communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and operational teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence working with documentation and data Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't!) Experience of internal auditing, CAPA management or supplier approval processes Familiarity with BRC standards Experience delivering training or toolbox talks Full UK driving licence Get in touch: Sound like the career move you've been after?
