An established international manufacturing group is entering an important phase of investment in its Irish operations and is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of major capital projects across design, construction, engineering coordination and regulatory compliance.

This is a senior client-side role suited to someone who has delivered complex manufacturing, industrial or food production projects and is comfortable operating in a structured, group-led environment where governance, standards, safety and compliance are critical.

You will take ownership of projects from early design through construction, commissioning and operational readiness, working closely with group engineering, supply chain, local operations, professional advisors, contractors and regulatory bodies.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring capital projects are delivered safely, commercially and in line with approved design standards, Irish and EU legislation, food safety expectations and operational requirements. Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Leading design, engineering and construction coordination for major manufacturing projects
  • Managing architects, engineers, contractors, consultants and specialist suppliers
  • Ensuring facilities are designed with food safety, hygiene, flow, segregation and cleanability in mind
  • Overseeing planning, fire safety, building control and statutory compliance requirements
  • Managing site activity, programme performance, risk, quality and change control
  • Supporting cost control and project reporting to senior leadership
  • Coordinating the interface between construction, equipment installation, commissioning and operational handover
  • Ensuring all approvals, documentation and close-out requirements are audit-ready

The Person

This role will suit a highly structured, commercially aware and technically confident project professional who can represent the client effectively across complex capital programmes. You will likely bring:

  • 10+ years’ experience delivering industrial, manufacturing, food, FMCG, pharmaceutical, beverage or similar capital projects
  • Strong understanding of construction, engineering, permits, statutory approvals and compliance
  • Experience managing external consultants, contractors and regulatory stakeholders
  • Confidence working in a matrix or group-led governance structure
  • Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders and operational teams
  • A practical understanding of manufacturing environments and operational readiness
  • The ability to challenge, influence and drive delivery without compromising safety, quality or compliance

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a major international manufacturing group at a key stage of investment and growth in Ireland. You will play a visible role in shaping future manufacturing capability, working on complex capital projects with real business impact. The role offers senior stakeholder exposure, technical challenge and the opportunity to influence design, compliance, construction and operational handover from concept through delivery.

This is a confidential appointment and further details will be shared with suitable candidates following an initial discussion. For a confidential conversation, please get in touch with Darren McVicker.
