Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm on the appointment of a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager. As the HSE Manager, you will lead and promote a strong culture of Safety, Health & Environmental ownership across the business' Northern Ireland operations, working closely with management and teams to ensure compliance, employee wellbeing and continuous improvement. Salary circa Β£55k (negotiable) 30 days holiday allowance Employee Healthcare plan Flexible working arrangements Life assurance benefit Company pension contributions Occupational sick pay scheme Personal development opportunities In your new role: Lead the development and continuous improvement of the company's Health, Safety & Environmental management systems, fostering accountability and a positive safety culture Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE legislation, regulations and industry standards across Northern Ireland operations Coach and support operational teams in embedding HSE responsibilities and maintaining management systems aligned with ISO standards Act as the subject matter expert and key contact for all Health, Safety & Environmental matters Develop and implement HSE objectives and improvement plans to enhance performance, reduce incidents and strengthen operational discipline Lead risk assessments, hazard identification and control programmes to minimise operational and environmental risk Oversee incident, near miss and environmental event investigations, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented Develop and deliver HSE training, coaching and engagement programmes to enhance awareness and compliance across all levels Support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, waste reduction and pollution prevention activities across the business Collaborate with HSE teams across the wider Group to share best practice, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement What you will need to succeed: At least 3 years' experience in a Health, Safety & Environmental leadership role within an operational or manufacturing environment Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent) Thorough knowledge of UK and Northern Ireland Health, Safety & Environmental legislation Strong communication, analytical and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels Experience implementing and maintaining Health, Safety & Environmental management systems, ideally within ISO-accredited environments Demonstrable experience of risk assessment, incident investigation and driving continuous improvement initiatives Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't): NEBOSH Diploma Membership of IOSH, IEMA or an equivalent professional body Experience working within ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 accredited environments Internal or Lead Auditor qualification Experience within manufacturing or other operational, shift-based environments Experience supporting environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives For a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health and Safety Specialist today.
