Civil Design Engineer | Water & Wastewater | Belfast Vickerstock are pleased to be partnering with an established engineering contractor as they continue to expand their in-house design capability supporting major water and wastewater infrastructure programmes across the UK. They are seeking a Civil Design Engineer with previous water industry experience to join their growing design team. Initial workload will include Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) on major programmes for Severn Trent and United Utilities, alongside projects at tender, design development and detailed design stages. This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer who wants to work closer to project delivery, developing practical and buildable design solutions alongside construction, mechanical, electrical and process engineering teams. You will be responsible for: Developing civil designs for clean water and wastewater infrastructure Supporting ECI activities, optioneering and the development of technically robust and buildable solutions Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation Supporting projects through tender, design development and detailed design Coordinating civil design with mechanical, electrical, process and construction disciplines Working closely with project delivery teams to ensure designs reflect construction methodology and site constraints Providing technical input throughout project delivery and supporting the resolution of design queries Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards, client requirements and engineering best practice What you will need to succeed as Civil Design Engineer Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline Previous civil design experience within the water or wastewater sector Experience delivering infrastructure projects within a consultancy, contractor or design & build environment Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles and construction methodology Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams Chartered Engineer status, or progression towards Chartership, would be advantageous but is not essential What's in it for you?
