Vickerstock Recruitment are working with a small, technically focused civil engineering consultancy to support the appointment of a Civil Engineer to join their growing design team in Craigavon. This role will suit a Civil Engineer with a solid grounding in infrastructure or heavy civil engineering design who is keen to develop their technical capability within a consultancy that places real emphasis on buildability, quality and sound engineering judgement.
Your new role as Civil Engineer
You'll join a collaborative engineering team delivering practical, robust design solutions across a range of civil engineering projects. The focus is on producing designs that are not just compliant, but safe, buildable and commercially aware.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Producing civil engineering designs, calculations and technical details.
- Supporting the delivery of infrastructure and heavy civil engineering projects.
- Preparing drawings and design information using industry-standard software.
- Liaising with senior engineers, project managers and external stakeholders.
- Attending site visits to inform and validate design solutions.
- Contributing to continuous improvement, innovation and technical excellence.
- Working in line with established quality, safety and design assurance processes.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you'll ideally demonstrate:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years' experience in a civil engineering design role.
- Exposure to infrastructure, drainage, earthworks or heavy civil engineering projects.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience advantageous).
- Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to design.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Motivation to progress professionally and work towards chartership (ICE).
