We are working with a leading engineering and construction specialist delivering complex mechanical building services projects across the Data Centre sector throughout the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth within the mission-critical market, our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their delivery team and take ownership of high-value mechanical packages on fast-track Data Centre developments. This position will suit an individual with a strong background in mechanical project delivery who is comfortable operating in demanding live project environments where programme, quality, and coordination are critical to success.
The Opportunity
You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of mechanical installations from early-stage planning through to commissioning and final handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations. The role requires close coordination with subcontractors, consultants, site teams, and internal stakeholders to drive programme performance and maintain quality across all stages of project execution. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of mechanical building services packages across Data Centre projects
- Coordinate site activities, subcontractors, suppliers, and installation teams
- Monitor programme milestones, project progress, and commercial performance
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, QA, and client quality standards
- Support commissioning activities, snagging, testing, and project closeout
- Identify and resolve technical and coordination issues throughout delivery phases
- Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Contribute to planning, reporting, and risk management activities
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience delivering mechanical projects within Data Centre or mission-critical environments
- Strong background in mechanical building services installation and site delivery
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts simultaneously
- Good understanding of commissioning, QA procedures, and project handover processes
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Commercial awareness with the ability to monitor costs and project performance
- Flexibility to travel to project sites across the UK & Ireland
Desirable
- Experience on large-scale or hyperscale Data Centre projects
- Familiarity with fast-track construction environments
- Knowledge of integrated MEP project delivery
- Experience working alongside commissioning and specialist vendor teams
