Vickerstock are recruiting for a results-driven Project Engineer with strong experience delivering capital investment and process improvement projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Skilled in leading projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring delivery to specification, on time, and within budget, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational performance.
You will be someone who is experienced in working cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, suppliers, and contractors to implement equipment upgrades, automation, and process optimisation initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance reliability. Brings a structured, data-led approach to problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement, alongside the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and project updates to stakeholders at all levels of the business.
Your responsibilities as a Project Engineer:
- Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring all activities support a zero-harm environment.
- Lead capital investment projects from concept through to completion, delivering on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Execute projects using structured project management methodologies, maintaining clear documentation and providing concise, regular updates to stakeholders.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to increase output, drive efficiency, reduce waste, and improve cost performance.
- Collaborate closely with operations teams to enhance safety and optimise equipment and production processes.
- Research, assess, and implement emerging technologies, automation, and AI-driven solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with internal departments, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth and effective project delivery.
- Support operations and maintenance teams with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving to resolve technical issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Apply a proactive and systematic approach to remove obstacles, maintain momentum, and ensure optimal project execution.
As a Project Engineer, ideally you will have:
- 3 years' experience within a Manufacturing Environment.
- Continuous Improvement mindset.
- Proactive approach to risk identification and problem-solving.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
