Vickerstock is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a leading food manufacturing business to recruit a Production Line / Team Lead for their Newry-based facility. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, expanding manufacturer with a strong market reputation. The role is hands-on within production, supporting your line and serving as a vital link between operators and supervisory/management teams in a fast-paced setting.
What's on offer:
- Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
- Holidays: 28 days (including 8 statutory days)
Your day to day:
- Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of your assigned production line during shift.
- You will lead by example on the floor, ensuring standards around safety, quality, and productivity are maintained.
- Leading and supporting production operatives on your line to meet daily production targets.
- Ensuring clear communication at shift handovers and throughout the shift.
- Monitoring output, quality, and waste, escalating issues where required.
- Making sure all work is carried out in line with health & safety, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Working with supervisors, engineering, and technical teams to resolve day-to-day production issues.
- Supporting basic continuous improvement activities and encouraging good working practices on the line.
Your essential ingredients:
- We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Team Lead with experience in food manufacturing, ideally within meat or chilled food environments.
- Experience as a Line Lead, Team Lead, or Senior Operator within a manufacturing environment.
- A practical understanding of production targets, quality standards, and safe working practices.
- Awareness of food safety and hygiene requirements (e.g. BRC, HACCP).
- Good communication skills and the confidence to guide and support colleagues on shift.
- A flexible, positive attitude and a willingness to get involved on the production floor.
