Although the title reflects Mechanical & Electrical, the primary focus of the position is mechanically biased project delivery, with a real advantage for candidates who come from a trades background.
As M&E Project Manager, you will lead and co-ordinate mechanical project delivery across a range of decarbonisation and energy infrastructure initiatives. You will work closely with multi-discipline teams from design through to on-site execution, ensuring mechanical solutions are practical, buildable, compliant, and aligned with the client's sustainability objectives.
Responsibilities- Managing the delivery of mechanical systems and works within decarbonisation projects.
- Leading mechanical installation planning, coordination, and execution across project delivery phases.
- Liaising with design, fabrication, and site teams to ensure mechanical solutions are delivered on time, to quality and budget.
- Supporting pre-construction planning, technical clarifications, and procurement activities.
- Ensuring mechanical design intent, site safety, and compliance standards are maintained throughout delivery.
- Providing practical mechanical insight to project teams, particularly where trade-level understanding adds value.
- Supporting continuous improvement in project delivery processes and decarbonisation outcomes.
To be considered for this role, you should demonstrate:
- Strong practical grounding in mechanical systems, ideally gained through a trades background, apprenticeship, or mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience managing mechanical elements of projects - ideally within decarbonisation, energy, building services, or related sectors.
- Solid understanding of mechanical installation practices, M&E interfaces, and site delivery challenges.
- The ability to read technical and schematic drawings, and translate them into practical on-site execution plans.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, hands-on mindset with a focus on delivery and safety.
- Confidence working collaboratively across design, procurement, fabrication, and project teams.
- Previous experience in decarbonisation, energy transition, heat networks, or low-carbon infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.
In return, you'll receive a competitive package and the opportunity to lead mechanical project delivery within a growing business unit focused on sustainable energy solutions, including:
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
- Permanent employment on offer with a newly formed decarbonisation delivery team.
- Opportunity to work on meaningful, impactful projects that contribute to decarbonisation and net zero goals.
- Collaborative environment that values practical knowledge and innovation.
- Professional development and exposure to a range of decarbonisation technology and delivery approaches.
