Vickerstock are pleased to be partnering with a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering innovative design solutions across the built environment, infrastructure and development sectors. As the business continues to expand its Belfast office, they are seeking a Chartered or Principal Civil Engineer to play a key role in the continued growth of their local civils team.
With an established presence across the UK and an expanding capability in Northern Ireland, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to take a leading role within a growing office, delivering complex infrastructure projects while helping shape the future direction of the Belfast team.
Your new role as Chartered / Principal Civil Engineer
- Working as a senior member of the civil engineering team, you will take responsibility for the delivery of infrastructure design projects across a range of sectors, while providing technical leadership and supporting the development of junior engineers.
- Leading the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, earthworks and associated infrastructure works.
- Managing projects through feasibility, concept design, detailed design and construction stages.
- Producing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, specifications and engineering calculations.
- Developing innovative and sustainable design solutions in line with client requirements and industry standards.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, contractors and external stakeholders.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineers within the growing Belfast team.
- Supporting business development activities, including client engagement and preparation of fee proposals.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, transport and infrastructure projects.
What you will need to succeed as Chartered / Principal Civil Engineer
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status with ICE or equivalent professional body.
- Significant experience delivering civil engineering design projects within a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical experience in roads, drainage, infrastructure design and associated civil works.
- Experience managing projects, coordinating technical delivery and liaising directly with clients.
- The ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
- A proactive approach with the ambition to contribute to the growth of a developing Belfast office.
