Vickerstock are pleased to be working in partnership with a leading, international engineering consultancy to recruit a Civil / Maritime CAD Technician to join their specialist maritime and coastal engineering team based in Belfast. This role would suit an experienced CAD Technician with a background in civil, marine, or heavy infrastructure projects, who is keen to work on technically interesting schemes including ports, harbours, coastal defences, and marine infrastructure across the UK and Ireland.
Your new role as Civil / Maritime CAD Technician:
- As part of the maritime engineering team, you will support the delivery of civil and marine infrastructure projects through the production of high-quality drawings and coordinated design information.
- Producing 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support the design of maritime and coastal infrastructure.
- Preparing general arrangement drawings, sections, details, and construction information for ports, harbours, quays, and coastal defence schemes.
- Supporting engineers by translating design concepts and calculations into clear, accurate CAD outputs.
- Updating and managing drawing registers and project documentation.
- Maintaining drawing standards and contributing to internal quality assurance procedures.
- Assisting with the development of models and drawings at concept, detailed design, and construction stages.
What you'll need to succeed as a Civil / Maritime CAD Technician:
- Proven experience working as a CAD Technician within a civil or infrastructure design environment.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (experience with 3D modelling or BIM tools would be advantageous).
- Experience producing drawings for civil infrastructure projects; maritime or coastal project exposure would be highly beneficial.
- Good understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methodology.
