Vickerstock are working alongside a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with an established reputation for delivering innovative design solutions across the built environment, infrastructure and development sectors. As the business continues to expand its Belfast presence, they are seeking an Associate or Associate Director level Structural Engineer to establish and lead the growth of their new building structures capability in Northern Ireland.
This represents a rare opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to play a defining role in shaping a new discipline within a growing Belfast office. - Establish and lead a new structural engineering capability within an expanding Belfast office

Your new role as Associate / Associate Director Structural Engineer:
- As a senior technical leader within the business, you will take ownership of the delivery of structural engineering projects while building client relationships and developing future opportunities for the Belfast structures team.
- Leading the delivery of building structures projects across sectors including commercial, residential, industrial, education and public sector developments
- Providing technical leadership across structural design projects, including reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry and associated structural systems
- Managing project delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction stages
- Producing and reviewing technical reports, calculations, specifications and design information
- Acting as a senior point of contact for clients, architects, contractors and project stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients across Northern Ireland
- Supporting business development activities including networking, bid preparation, fee proposals and work-winning initiatives
- Identifying new opportunities and contributing to the growth strategy for the Belfast structures team
- Mentoring and supporting future members of the structural engineering team as the discipline develops
What you will need to succeed as Associate / Associate Director Structural Engineer:
- A degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer status with IStructE, ICE or an equivalent professional body
- Significant experience delivering structural engineering projects within a consultancy environment
- Strong technical capability across building structures design and engineering principles
- Experience managing technical delivery, design teams and project outputs
- Commercial and leadership experience:
- Proven experience developing client relationships and supporting business growth
- A track record of contributing to successful bids, fee proposals and winning new work
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting team development
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities and build a sustainable project pipeline
- The ambition and capability to establish and grow a structural engineering team within Belfast
