Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with a leading global engineering and technology organisation to recruit a Sourcing Specialist 1 on a contract basis, supporting a major operational site in Inverness. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sourcing or procurement professional to join a structured, process-driven environment, supporting purchase order execution, supplier management, and ERP accuracy within defined sourcing policies.
Rate: Up to £23 per hour (Outside IR35)
Contract: Contract only
Location: Inverness
Working Pattern: 4 days on-site, 1 day remote
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the execution of procurement activities, ensuring purchase orders are placed, tracked, and delivered in line with business requirements, budgets, and sourcing policies.
- Place, manage, and follow up on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
- Manage supplier relationships to support PO execution and resolve issues
- Respond to schedule changes, supply disruptions, and procurement challenges
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within ERP systems
- Apply sourcing policies and procurement procedures consistently
- Support the execution of functional procurement strategies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align purchasing with operational needs
- Communicate procurement and technical information clearly to relevant parties
- Escalate issues outside defined parameters to senior team members as required
The Person
- Previous experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles
- Sourcing knowledge equivalent to degree level or through relevant experience
- Strong understanding of PO execution, supplier management, and sourcing processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently within established procedures
- Comfortable working collaboratively across cross-functional teams
