Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing organisation on the appointment of a Maintenance Technician in Ballymena. Working as part of the Maintenance team, you will be responsible for keeping a wide range of plant, machinery and site equipment operating safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role covering mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems within a busy manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday position with a well-established Northern Ireland manufacturer.
In your new role:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production plant and equipment
- Respond to breakdowns and complete reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
- Maintain automated batching plant, mould equipment and production machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
- Carry out general maintenance across site equipment and installations
- Maintain and repair forklifts, HGVs, vans and other site vehicles
- Complete maintenance, quality and Health & Safety records accurately
- Provide feedback to Maintenance Supervisors on breakdowns, repairs and PPM requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance activities, equipment reliability and working practices
- Assist with operator training where required
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Report any Health & Safety or quality issues promptly
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the maintenance and production areas
What you will need to succeed:
- Engineering qualification in Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Fitting or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' maintenance experience
- Relevant electrical qualification
- Proven experience working with industrial electrical equipment
- Strong understanding of mechanical plant and machinery
- Good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team
- Flexible approach to overtime and wider business requirements
