Vickerstock are working in partnership with a well-known food manufacturing company based in Ballymena to assist them with the recruitment of a Maintenance Engineer. Your Responsibilities as a Maintenance Engineer:

  • Lead daily briefings with on-site engineering and maintenance technicians to coordinate task distribution, review safety protocols, and address immediate operational requirements.
  • Participate in the daily AOS (Active Operations Strategy) meeting alongside the Operations department to ensure cross-functional alignment on key updates, performance metrics, and strategic goals.
  • Plan, delegate, and oversee daily and weekly maintenance schedules, optimising resource allocation to ensure timely execution of both routine and ad hoc tasks.
  • Compile and submit comprehensive weekly performance reports, detailing task completion rates, downtime analysis, and improvement actions to support continuous operational efficiency.
  • Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance on critical infrastructure including high-bay racking systems, industrial ammonia refrigeration units, and other mechanical systems to minimise downtime and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret data from SCADA to detect anomalies, track system performance, and support proactive decision-making.

As a Maintenance Engineer, ideally you will have:

  • An Electrical, Mechanical or Refrigeration qualification.
  • Experience with SCADA.
  • Experience working within a food or packaging environment.
