Supplier Quality EngineerLocation: Banbridge, County DownJob Type: Full-time, PermanentIndustry: Engineering / ManufacturingWhat's in it for you?40,000 - 55,000 basic salary depending on experienceAnnual bonusExcellent pension and wider benefits packageMonday to Friday permanent positionOpportunity to work with a wide range of suppliers and engineering teamsStrong career development and progression opportunitiesHN37778Company and Role of Supplier Quality EngineerVickerstock are recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer on behalf of a successful engineering and manufacturing business in the Banbridge area.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with suppliers and improving quality rather than simply managing documentation.You will take responsibility for supplier quality performance, working closely with suppliers and internal Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Manufacturing teams to ensure components and materials consistently meet the required standards.The role will involve a good mix of supplier development, problem-solving, quality improvement and practical engineering.Key Responsibilities for this Supplier Quality Engineer positionWork with suppliers to improve quality, performance and consistencyInvestigate supplier-related quality issues and drive effective corrective actionsSupport the introduction and approval of new suppliers and componentsMonitor supplier quality performance and identify areas requiring improvementCarry out supplier audits and quality reviewsWork closely with Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing to resolve quality issuesSupport root cause investigations and preventative actionsDevelop strong working relationships with key suppliersSupport continuous improvement across the supply chainEnsure appropriate supplier quality standards and documentation are maintainedEssential Criteria for this Supplier Quality Engineer positionPrevious experience within Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality or a similar engineering roleExperience working within an engineering or manufacturing environmentGood understanding of root cause analysis and corrective actionExperience dealing directly with suppliers or external manufacturing partnersGood understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processesStrong practical problem-solving skillsGood communication and relationship-building abilityA qualification within Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related discipline would be advantageous, although strong relevant industry experience will also be considered.We are particularly interested in speaking with Supplier Quality Engineers and Quality Engineers, as well as Manufacturing or Process Engineers who have strong quality and supplier experience.Experience within fabricated products, mechanical components, assemblies, machinery, equipment or other engineered products would be particularly relevant.To apply for this Supplier Quality Engineer position, please submit your CV or contact Hugh Nugent at Vickerstock for a confidential discussion.
