Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading environmental and sustainability-focused organisation on the appointment of a Health & Safety Officer.Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you will gain exposure to a wide range of HSE activities while helping to drive compliance, continuous improvement, and a positive safety culture across multiple sites.This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone who enjoys being visible on site, engaging with teams, and making a real impact on workplace safety. You will support day-to-day Health & Safety activities across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with legislation, company standards, and best practice while contributing to the ongoing development of HSE systems and processes.Support accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actionsLead and coordinate internal Health & Safety audits, inspections, and behavioural safety initiativesDevelop and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe systems of workDeliver toolbox talks, inductions, and Health & Safety training to employees and contractorsWork closely with operational teams and management to promote a positive safety cultureIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement across Health & Safety systems, processes, and site standardsSupport external audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance activitiesManage Health & Safety onboarding and induction processes for new starters and contractorsMaintain training records and competency matrices across operational teamsContribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of integrated management systemsMonitor compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures across multiple sitesWhat you'll need to succeed:Experience within a similar Health & Safety roleNEBOSH General Certificate or equivalentExperience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigationsUnderstanding of Health & Safety compliance and risk management principlesExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsFull UK driving licenceDesirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):Experience within recycling, manufacturing, logistics, or similar operational environmentsAdditional Health & Safety qualificationsExperience delivering training, toolbox talks, and inductionsKnowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 management systemsExperience supporting continuous improvement and behavioural safety initiativesFor a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health & Safety Specialist, today.Permanent
