Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing organisation to recruit a Senior SHEQ Advisor. Working closely with the SHEQ Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the Integrated Management System across the organisation, supporting health & safety, environmental, quality, and compliance activities while driving a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Support the SHEQ Manager in maintaining and improving the Integrated Management System across multiple business areas.
  • Promote a positive SHEQ culture, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organisation.
  • Assist with accident, incident and near miss investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
  • Support internal, external and customer audits, helping to maintain compliance with ISO management systems and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor SHEQ performance, reporting on KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure standards, procedures and control measures are implemented effectively.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, including production standards, material compliance and calibration activities.
  • Assist with environmental compliance and ethical audit requirements across the business.
  • Deliver SHEQ communications, training initiatives and engagement activities to promote best practice.
  • Deputise for the SHEQ Manager when required, supporting the ongoing development of the wider SHEQ function.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 3+ years' experience within a SHEQ, Quality or operational compliance role in manufacturing, engineering or a similar environment.
  • Third-level qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Quality, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence positive SHEQ behaviours.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or working towards).
  • Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Membership of IOSH, IEMA, CQI or another relevant professional body.
  • Previous experience mentoring or supervising team members.
  • Experience supporting customer, ethical or compliance audits.
