We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated MICE Sales Manager to drive Meeting, Incentive, Conference, and Event (MICE) business from key European markets to our luxury resort in Portugal, Viceroy at Ombria Algarve . The ideal candidate will be a results-driven sales professional with a strong network within the European MICE segment and a passion for delivering exceptional group experiences in a luxury resort setting.
*This position will be based in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a sales strategy to attract MICE business from across Europe to the resort.
- Identify and build relationships with key MICE clients, agencies, and corporate event planners across multiple European markets.
- Generate leads and convert business through proactive outreach, site inspections, and compelling proposals tailored to client needs.
- Represent the resort at European trade shows, industry events, client meetings, and fam trips to promote our offerings and grow brand awareness.
- Collaborate closely with the on-property sales and events teams to ensure smooth coordination, contract delivery, and exceptional client experiences.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the resort’s event capabilities, services, competitive positioning, and market trends.
- Provide timely sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
- Align all sales efforts with brand standards, pricing strategies, and revenue goals.
- Offer market feedback to support marketing campaigns, promotional strategies, and product enhancements.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in MICE or group sales within the hospitality industry, with a proven track record in European markets.
- Strong knowledge of the MICE landscape and established client and agency relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and manage a dynamic pipeline.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a cross-functional, international team.
- Willingness to travel throughout Europe and to the resort in Portugal as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems (delphi.fdc) is preferred.
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages (such as German, French, Spanish, or Portuguese) are a plus.
