We are seeking a skilled and reliable Alloy Wheel Refurbisher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for restoring and refinishing alloy wheels to the highest standards, ensuring exceptional quality and customer satisfaction. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where precision, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential. The ideal candidate will have strong practical skills, a keen eye for finish quality, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Inspect alloy wheels to assess damage, including kerb damage, corrosion, cracks, and buckles.
- Prepare wheels for refurbishment by stripping, cleaning, sanding, blasting, and filling imperfections.
- Carry out repairs to damaged alloys, including minor welding, crack repairs, and surface restoration where required.
- Apply primers, base coats, colour finishes, and lacquers using spray equipment to achieve a factory-quality finish.
- Perform diamond cutting and powder coating processes (where applicable).
- Operate refurbishment machinery, lathes, sanders, and spray booths safely and effectively.
- Ensure colour matching and finish consistency to meet manufacturer and customer standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Work efficiently to meet daily targets and deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Requirements
- Proven experience in alloy wheel refurbishment, automotive painting, or a similar automotive body repair role.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation and refinishing techniques.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools such as sanders, grinders, spray guns, and polishing equipment.
- Familiarity with powder coating and/or diamond cutting processes (preferred but not essential).
- Good mechanical understanding and ability to identify structural wheel damage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
- Physically capable of handling wheels and equipment safely.
Pay: £14.96-£22.10 per hour
