Are you an experienced finance professional eager to take on a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a Financial Director to join our client and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of their business.
About the Role:
Having recently been purchased, this role will report directly to the private equity CFO. This is a Central London based position, with hybrid working (2 days in the office). You will play a key part in leading this accountancy practice business and setting it up for growth.
As the Finance Director, you will oversee all aspects of financial operations across our clients group companies, supporting strategic decision-making, managing transactions, and ensuring compliance. You’ll also take the lead in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and supporting M&A activities. With a number of M&A’s planned over the coming 12 months, our client needs someone who has been there and done it.
You will be a numbers person but with experience working within a people-centric business. You bring a fine balance between people and numbers, with a leadership style that creates followship and galvanises teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Board and management reporting, analysis and presentation of results to the leadership team.
- Provide commercial and strategic support and decision-making across all business services, looking at new areas of growth.
- Partnering the P.E board and the leaders of key functions internally to support the growth and provide challenge and support where necessary.
- Managing and developing the day-to-day finance function.
- Ensure the finance reporting is best in class, fully compliant, and provides meaningful commentary for senior leadership.
- Look to further develop the KPI reporting and produce comprehensive financial analysis, identifying trends, opportunities, and risks to drive informed business decisions.
- Supporting acquisitions and integrations.
- Overall responsibility for statutory reporting and tax compliance.
- Ensuring strong governance, control, and processes, looking to minimise risk.
- Ensuring the finance function meets the Group and investor reporting requirements.
- Leading and managing the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Oversight of the accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring robust cash control and risk management.
What You Bring:
- You will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification).
- You may know your numbers but it’s key that you are an exceptional, influential leader.
- Experience of working within a growth organisation, ideally with exposure to M&A.
- Experience within people-centric businesses would be advantageous.
- Ability to build an outstanding finance function by developing an outstanding team.
- Track record of partnering and supporting key stakeholders.
- Hands-on, roll your sleeves up approach.
- Inquisitive and track record of problem-solving, identifying and delivering tangible improvements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Proven experience in group-wide financial control.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Salary & Benefits:
- Competitive salary: £100,000 – £125,000 (depending on experience).
