An established and respected HVAC rental provider is seeking an experienced Rental Engineer to join their growing field service team on a permanent basis. This role offers variety, independence, and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge air conditioning and chiller equipment across a wide range of customer sites.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, de-installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of rental fleet equipment. This is a remote role from home, ideally based in the Midlands belt, or around the M62 corridor. The position involves travel to multiple sites and occasional visits to regional offices across the country, so flexibility and initiative are essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, commission, and de-install rental HVAC and chiller equipment with minimal supervision and within set timescales.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and repair work on the rental fleet to ensure equipment reliability.
- Liaise directly with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify potential future business opportunities.
- Produce detailed technical and service reports on all work carried out and complete documentation accurately for invoicing.
- Maintain the highest technical and safety standards, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Uphold company policies and procedures related to quality, safety, and service excellence.
- You’re a proactive, hands-on engineer who enjoys working in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.
- You’re confident managing your own workload and maintaining high standards of service and professionalism while travelling between sites.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar HVAC or chiller service role.
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship (mechanical and basic electrical competencies required).
- Ideally qualified F-Gas and or hydrocarbon engineer with strong controls and electrical fault-finding knowledge.
- Salary: £45,000 p.a + OT approx. £8,000 p.a.
- 26 days annual leave.
