We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Private Client department. This role is ideal for a professional who has previous experience in this practice area and will undertake fee-earning work and manage client work allocated by a Partner or senior fee earners. For the right candidate (after successful training), there is an opportunity to progress within the firm, and we will offer support and funding to qualify as an English Solicitor. Only candidates with previous experience in the practice area will be considered.

Key responsibilities:

  • Meeting new clients, taking instructions and providing legal advice
  • Preparation of probate applications
  • Managing estates and delegations
  • Communicating with clients
  • Legal research
  • Will and trust drafting
  • Assist with Will signings
  • Prepare for court hearings
  • Dealing with capacity issues

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ideally have 1-2 years of experience working in a probate/will department or in the professional services sector
  • Experience of dealing with clients
  • High level of literacy and numeracy in day-to-day operations
  • Familiarity with legal operations, compliance, and document management systems
  • Hold a degree (ideally a law degree) but not essential
