Your mission is to ensure the Network Maintenance department performs in line with performance expectations, SLA delivery, quality, and budget.
What will you be doing?
- Leading the Network Maintenance team, ensuring achievement of SLAs are met and work is delivered on time, on budget, and with high levels of quality and safety.
- Developing a strong relationship with the network owner to facilitate cohesive and effective network maintenance.
- Ensuring sufficient resources are in place to repair outages within contractual timeframes.
- Focusing on risk mitigation for network maintenance, ensuring all documentation and permits are in place.
- Overall responsibility for SLA compliance and supporting processes in the department.
- Delivering training and coaching to upskill teams in all areas of network maintenance.
- Promoting health and safety, driving audits and improvements across the department.
- Working closely with HSEQ, Streetworks, and Build teams for performance improvement measures.
- Compiling data, reports, and presentations to effectively monitor performance and improvements.
- Completing Post Incident Review documentation for critical outages.
- Attending daily operational calls with the client to review progress, workstack, key incidents, and escalations.
- Attending weekly and monthly progress meetings to review performance and manage expectations.
- Measuring the financial performance of the department, liaising closely with the commercial team.
- Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with teams across the Group for successful project delivery.
- Managing the department risk register, highlighting risks to the business and providing solutions.
What will you bring?
- A proven track record of working at a senior level in a technical telecoms role.
- 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety best practices within telecoms.
- Experience promoting a safety-first culture, including audits and continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of fibre network architecture, fault management, and repair processes.
- Proven experience of leading a department.
- Significant experience of budget and cost management.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills including schedule management.
- Outstanding communication and inter-personal skills at all levels.
- Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- High level of IT literacy including experience using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Experience using GIS / Network mapping systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to attend site when required, including out of hours.
