About the Role
Join Anthropic as a Solutions Architect on the Startups Applied AI team to partner with founders and engineering teams, helping startups design, evaluate, and deploy LLM-powered products on the Claude Developer Platform. The role combines deep technical expertise, hands-on experience with production LLM applications, and customer-facing sales engineering to drive adoption and scale.
Role
As a Solutions Architect on the Startups Applied AI team, you will partner with founders and startup engineering teams to architect, evaluate, and deploy LLM-powered solutions on the Claude Developer Platform. You will act as a trusted technical advisor from initial discovery through deployment and expansion, working closely with Account Executives and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to translate startup requirements into technical solutions and guide Claude adoption from evaluation to deployment and expansion.
- Win technical evaluations by developing evaluation frameworks that demonstrate Claude’s fit for specific use cases.
- Build credibility with founders and engineers by understanding their build patterns and advising on architecture decisions.
- Gather insights on how startups use Claude, identify emerging use cases and deployment patterns, and relay feedback to Product and Engineering.
- Travel to customer sites, startup events, and industry conferences for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building.
Requirements
- 5+ years in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or a technical founder with founder-led sales experience.
- Experience working with startups or high-growth technology companies and understanding early-stage constraints and velocity.
- Strong builder credibility via software engineering or technical founding experience.
- Deep technical proficiency building and scaling AI products, with hands‑on experience deploying LLM-powered applications in production.
- Expertise in context engineering, evaluation frameworks, and modern AI architecture patterns.
- Strong technical communication skills to translate complex AI concepts for founders and engineering teams.
- Track record of selling technical products in competitive markets.
- Comfortable with Python and familiar with common LLM frameworks, tools, and integration patterns.
Compensation & Logistics
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Location-based hybrid policy: staff are expected to be in one of Anthropic’s offices at least 25% of the time.
- Visa sponsorship: Anthropic may sponsor visas and retains immigration support for offers.
