The Role

As an MOT Tester / Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out MOT testing, servicing, repairs and general mechanical work across a wide range of vehicles.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Carrying out MOT tests to DVSA standards and ensuring vehicles meet legal safety and environmental requirements.
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and identifying repair requirements.
  • Completing servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs, including brakes, suspension and general vehicle repairs.
  • Using diagnostic equipment, hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Completing work to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Maintaining accurate records of inspections, MOTs, repairs and servicing.
  • Communicating professionally with customers and explaining any work or repairs required.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
  • Following all company health and safety procedures.

About You

We are looking for someone who is hands‑on, reliable and takes genuine pride in their work.

You will ideally have

  • Previous experience as a Mechanic / Vehicle Technician.
  • A valid MOT Tester qualification is highly desirable but not mandatory
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and practical repair experience.
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • The ability to diagnose faults and work efficiently to resolve issues.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.

MOT Tester training may be considered for the right experienced Mechanic.
