An exceptional opportunity for an experienced CNC 5-Axis Specialist. Our client is a leading precision engineering manufacturer, producing complex, high-tolerance components for demanding industries. They are looking to recruit an experienced CNC 5-Axis Programmer, Setter and Operator who can take complete ownership of the machining process from offline programming through to production optimisation.
This is not an entry-level programming role. We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with extensive experience in complex 5-axis machining who can confidently work independently and deliver right-first-time results.
The Role
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for:
- Programming complex 5-axis CNC machining centres using CAM software
- Creating and optimising efficient machining strategies
- Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, CAD models and GD&T
- Selecting cutting tools, workholding and machining parameters
- Generating collision-free toolpaths and machine simulations
- Editing and optimising G-code where required
- Setting and proving out new jobs
- Configuring machines and tooling for production
